Hello and welcome!
Today’s post is a little different, but I thought it’d be fun! I’ll be writing about 5 different ways you can have a movie marathon.
Movie marathons are so fun! A movie marathon is essentially when you watch multiple movies in a row. I love having movie marathons, especially in the summertime! There are a few different ways you can host a movie marathon, and I’m here to show you!
Watch A Movie Series In Release Order
This is one of the classic movie marathon routes. You’ll simply pick a movie series and watch the movies in that series, or at least a few of the movies, and enjoy! You can do this with any movie series. These are so fun because you’ll get to see everything (or at least a large piece) from the series all at once and you’ll be able to remember all the details and possibly understand more of the plot!
Watch A Movie Series In Chronological Order
This is similar to the previous option, but instead of release order, you watch the movies in chronological order. There are multiple series, for example, Marvel or Star Wars, that weren’t released in chronological order. Watching movies in this order can often make it easier to understand, especially for first-time watchers.
Watch Movies All Staring A Particular Actor
This is a less common way to have a movie marathon, but still just as fun! How it works is: you’ll pick a movie star as the theme of your movie marathon, then compile a list of however many movies you’d like to watch by that actor, watch away! An example is: I’m choosing Tom Hanks as the theme for my watching spree. I’m watching News Of The World, Saving Mr. Banks, A Beautiful Day In The Neighborhood, and Toy Story. I like this kind of marathon because you really get to “know” the actor and appreciate all the wonderful films they’ve done!
Watch Movies In A Particular Genre
If you have an obsession with a specific movie genre, this is a great movie marathon idea! It can be any genre: action, horror, romance, comedy, musical, etc. This is a more simple idea, but still enjoyable!
Watch A Movie Picked By Each Friend
This is my favorite movie marathon idea! You’ll need a group of friends to do this one. How it works, is each friend in your group will pick a movie to watch in the marathon. It will most likely end up being a random assortment of films, but that just makes it more interesting! If you don’t have enough friends for enough movies, you can pick some other films together!
Those are my different ideas for movie marathons! There are so many ways you can mix up your movie marathons! You could watch them on a big screen, outside, as you’re pulling an all-nighter, by yourself, with a group of friends, in a short period of time, in a long period of time, by the pool, via a streaming service for those separated by great distances, etc. I definitely recommend having a movie marathon this summer (or any time of the year, of course)!
Now that you have some different ways you can watch your movies, I’ll be sharing some other series and individual movies. Note: I haven’t watched all of these titles.
