My Basic Bullet Journal Essentials | The Best Bullet Journal Products for Beginners

Hello and welcome! I hope you’re having a fantastic day!

In today’s post I’ll be going over my bullet journal essentials! This post is for my friends who have a journal, but don’t know what pens and makers to use! I’ve gathered all my favorite products, along with some items you already have at home. All of these products are affordable and great quality.

Thank you so much to Diamond and her Bullet Journal Essentials post for inspiring me to make a similar post!

#2 Pencil

It’s a stationary staple! I use these to trace out the lines, designs, and doodles before I write them in pen. I prefer the classic #2 to the mechanical pencil because I feel like the mechanical pencils break much quicker because of the skinny graphite.

I don’t have a favorite brand of erasers, I just use what I have on hand at the time. You’ll make mistakes, so you’ll need to use an eraser. I don’t recommend erasers with patters or designs on top because they might trace the coloring on to the page your erasing.

Sharpie S-Gel Retractable Gel Pen (Black)

If you’re looking for an affordable, great quality gel pen, I highly recommend these! I love how the gel glides onto the paper and it feels amazing in your hands. They also have assorted colors if your interested in those.

Sharpie Ultra Fine Point Permanent Marker (Black)

If you prefer a felt tip pen to a gel pen, these are great! You can’t go wrong with simple black pens like these. You can use them for anything you’d like.

Crayola Super Tips

These are by far my favorite bullet journaling product! They’re another product that can be used for anything! I highly recommend these as the first markers you begin with. They also come in different size packs, depending on your needs. I have a 50 pack, and the colors are stunning!

Tombow Fudenosuke Brush Pen (Black) (Soft Tip + Hard Tip)

These are great for calligraphy! They’re easy to use for all levels of calligraphy talent! The pack comes with two, one hard tip and one soft tip. I prefer the hard tip because I find it easier to control, but they both make beautiful lettering.

Tombow Fudenosuke Brush Pen (Neon) (6 pack)

I actually won these in Lrose5‘s giveaway! Thank you so much, Lrose5! Anyways, these are such fun colors and also great for calligraphy.

There are also some objects that would be useful that I’m sure you already have!

  • Ruler
  • Compass
  • Stencils
  • Scissors

That’s all I’ve got! Thank you so much for reading!

Do you bullet journal? What are your favorite bullet journal products? I’d love to chat with you in the comments!

  1. Fun post! I want to get some Tombows and some Super Tips sometime. I’ve heard great things about them and they seem like they would be a fun addition to my stationary collection.

FYI: I don’t know if this is just on my end, but a majority of your post is duplicated after the actual post. Just thought I should let you know if that’s happening on other people’s end.
